Serving the community of Newton Hall

An Even Warmer Welcome at All Saints

We have recently embarked on a series of improvements to our building in order to make it warmer for all of those who use the building, as well as reducing our energy bills so as to keep our rental charges at a competitive rate.
The first stage of these improvements was the installation of insulation to the external cavity walls of the building, which was undertaken during the last week in January. The installation was undertaken by a local installer, Karnheath. The work was funded by the following donors – Joseph Brough Charitable Trust and Durham AAP Small Grants Fund, to whom we are extremely grateful. The grants were made possible by the work done by County Durham Community Foundation, to whom we also give our thanks. Some photographs of the installation being carried out can be seen on our website.
The next stages of the improvements will, hopefully, involve the replacement of the single glazed timber windows and fire exit door, the installation of a new lowered and insulated ceiling in the church, and the installation of solar photo voltaic panels on the hall roof.
